Rutland Stove Gasket Kit 5/16″ x 7′ is all you need to replace worn stove and fireplace insert gaskets each year. Our kit contains a tube of cement, making it convenient to keep your fireplace or stove airtight and free of creosote and soot. Graphite-impregnated, braided fiberglass is engineered to provide superior sealing and resist fraying and abrasion. 7 feet of gasketing is just the right amount for most applications.
Directions for use
Wearing protective gloves and eyewear is recommended. Remove all old gasketing and adhesive from the channel of your stove door or window while the stove is still cold. In order for the adhesive to adhere properly, the gasket channel must be cleaned down to the bare metal. The gasket and the gasket channel in the stove door should be lightly dampened.
Knead the tube before using it. Cut the tip at an angle. Apply a 1/8′′ bead of cement to the gasket channel, then firmly press the gasket into the channel, cement adhering to it. To make a crease in the excess gasket, close the door. Remove any remaining gasket from the crease by opening the front door and trimming the excess gasket. Allow for one hour of drying with the door open. Ensure to heat cure your product within 30 days.
