Soil quality is crucial to good development. Strong, disease-resistant plants need less watering and feeding when the soil is rich in organic matter.
Natural recycled plant and animal matter that has been allowed to decompose slowly and return to the soil is known as organic material. In a nutshell, COMPOST! The best compost-based soils and mulches are made up of decomposed marine and planktonic matter.
All natural ingredients
Bar Harbor Blend is a rich blend of well-aged compost, Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed, very old dark bark, peat, and perlite. When used with routine applications of plant food, it was created especially for growing and sustaining stable, disease-resistant plants.
Planting Using Coast Of Maine Bar Harbor Blend Organic Potting Soil
-
Fill your container halfway with potting soil and gently tamp it down to minimize the overall amount.
-
Scoop out a hole in the soil for each plant that is deep enough for the rootball to end up around 1” below the container’s edge.
-
Place the plants in the holes after removing them from their nursery pots.
-
More potting soil may be added until the soil is level all around your plants.
- Using the flat of your hands, gently tamp it down once more.
-
Water gently to prevent scratching the soil’s top layer.
-
Water the container several times before the water drains from the bottom.
